Virtual Test Session – Monday, October 13
There’s still time to sign up for our virtual test session on Monday, October 13th. All videos for this test session must be submitted by Monday, October 13th and filmed between Monday, September 29th and Monday, October 13th. The testing fee includes 15 minutes of ice time per skater for filming (for CFSC members only). Instructions for signing up for filming will be provided upon registration.
Board Member Elections – Wednesday, October 22, 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm
We will be holding elections on Wednesday, October 22nd for 3 open board positions. Voting will take place from 5:00 pm – 6:30 pm. Parents/Guardians cast ballots as representatives of their minor club members, and adult members who are not able to attend (think college students) may designate a proxy. Adult members who wish to designate a proxy should email the club with the name of their desired proxy. If you are interested in adding your name to the ballot or just getting more information about becoming a board member, feel free to talk to any current board member.
Annual Meeting – Wednesday, October 22, approx. 7:00 pm – 8:00 pm
Our annual meeting will be held immediately after the elections, beginning at approximately 7:00 pm. Our primary agenda item will be going over the results of the elections and determining board positions. All are welcome!
Club Photos – Wednesday, October 22, 5:15 pm – 7:45 pm
Club photos will be taken by Josh Sharp again this year during our regular Wednesday night Freestyle session. Check your email for links to get more information about the packages available and to sign up for your timeslot.
SCMIA Trunk or Treat and Family Drive-In Movie Night – Friday, October 24, 7:00 pm
The South Charleston Memorial Ice Arena is hosting a Trunk or Treat and drive-in movie night on Friday, October 24th. Activities include a trunk or treat in the parking lot, and both ice skating ($6/person) and ice bumper cars ($5/ride) inside. The fun starts at 7:00 pm, and the free movie – Jurassic World Rebirth – will begin at dusk. Bring the whole family for a night of sweets, fun, laughter, and dinosaurs!

Hope and Genevieve did a great job representing our club at Skate Cleveland last month. Well done, girls!
Congratulations to Maggie who recently passed two skating tests, one with honors! Maggie passed both her Pre-Preliminary Singles test and her Pre-Bronze Skating Skills test, the latter with honors. Well done, Maggie!
Meanwhile, Johie passed her second Silver Solo Pattern Dance Test – the American Waltz. She has just one more dance to go to finish up Silver Pattern Dance Test. Great job, Johie!
Last, but not least, Emily passed her last two Gold Solo Pattern Dance Tests – the Viennese Waltz and the Westminster Waltz – to complete her Gold Solo Pattern Dance Test. With this accomplishment, Emily has become a quadruple gold medalist. We couldn’t be more proud of her!
