Open House – Friday, November 14, 7:30 pm – 9:00 pm
Have you ever wanted to learn how to figure skate? Have you or your child recently fallen in love with skating? Do you have questions about how it all works: how to get started, how to find a coach, how to get your own skates, how to participate in testing or competitions? Come join us at our open house at the South Charleston Memoria Ice Arena on Friday, November 14th. Come see what we’re all about. Bring your family and friends – and your questions! Skating will be free for everyone, and members of both the Board and Junior Board will be on hand to tell you all about figure skating in general and our club in particular, as well as answer any and all questions. All are welcome!

Our next virtual test session will be held on Monday, December 8th. Registration for this test session is currently open on entryeeze – members can register here. Talk to your coach if you’re interested in participating.
Light the Night Group Night – Monday, December 1, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Join fellow skaters and their families for a fun night at Light the Night at the GoMart Ballpark. Enjoy the lights choreographed to holiday music, walk through the light display (don’t get lost in the maze!), have some s’mores, and – of course – go skating! Tickets are $10 per person 3 years old and up. Children 2 and under are free but still need a ticket to scan at the gate.
Skaters who are participating in the exhibition that night will receive a free ticket, so no need to purchase one for them. Click here to request your tickets. Payment can be given to any board member. All tickets must be paid for by Sunday, November 23rd to take advantage of the group rate.
Light the Night Club Exhibition – Monday, December 1, 5:15 pm – 5:45 pm
CFSC will be hosting a figure skating exhibition during Light the Night at the GoMart Ballpark, and we need skaters! There will be a group number with all skaters, and each skater will have the opportunity to demonstrate some of their best skills (this will not be a full program). As a bonus, all skaters participating in the exhibition will receive free admission for the night. If you are interested in participating, please complete the interest form in our October newsletter that was emailed to all club members on October 9th.
Beginner Ice Skating Clinics – Saturday, December 6 & 27, 9:00 am – 11:30 am
CFSC will be running two Beginner Ice Skating Clinics this year hosted by the Dirty Birds at the GoMart Ballpark. These clinics are geared toward kids ages 4-12 and include ice skating instruction, both on and off the ice, lunch, and a T-shirt – all for just $30! Help us spread the word! You can register for either clinic – or both! – here.
Holiday Showcase – Sunday, December 14, 5:30 pm
Start planning your program! Our Holiday Showcase will be held this year on Sunday, December 14th. The theme is “Sugar and Ice and Everything Nice.” The sign-up sheet is posted in the locker room – as always, song choices are first come, first served, and the deadline to sign up is Sunday, November 30th.
Congratulations!!
Morgan and Dave competed in the 2025 International Adult Figure Skating Competition in Alexandria, VA last month and brought home some nice hardware! They earned gold in both Intermediate Pairs and Bronze Ice Dance. Way to represent our adult skaters!
Addy, Gracie, and Sophia competed in the Canton Skating Spooktacular at the end of last month, and they all brought home medals! Addy earned gold in Level 1 Compulsory Moves, Gracie earned bronze in Aspire 2 Girls Free Skate, and Sophia earned bronze in the Level 2 Jump Challenge and gold in Aspire 3 Girls Free Skate. Well done!
