Skating Show at Canaan – weekend of January 23-25

Several of our skaters are returning this season to Canaan Valley Resort. They will be performing in three shows over the course of the weekend: Friday night at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. In between shows, they’ll be able to visit the local shops and enjoy outdoor activities – yes, there are other activities aside from skating! If you’ve ever considered spending a weekend in the area, this would be a great one! If you can’t make it this month, there will be 2 more opportunities: February 20-22, 2026 and March 13-15, 2026. Hope to see you there!

Virtual Test Session

Our virtual test session on Monday, December 8^th provided some great results. Congratulations to the following skaters:

• Addy passed her Pre-Preliminary Skating Skills
• Desmond passed his Preliminary Skating Skills
• Sara A. passed her Adult Bronze Skating Skills and her Adult Pre-Bronze Singles – the latter with honors
• Shelby passed her Pre-Preliminary Singles
• Kinzleigh passed her Gold Free Dance

We will be hosting another virtual test session in a few months, so keep an eye out for the announcement.

Light the Night Wrap-Up

All three events we had during Light the Night last month were big successes!

• We held 2 Youth Skating Clinics this year and they were a blast! Everyone had a great time – both students and instructors. Special thanks to Dave and Morgan for organizing and running this event.
• We had over 60 club members come out to the CFSC group night which was the same night as our exhibition. Although it was a pretty quiet night at the ballpark, we were able to share information about our club with a few people. A big thank-you to Jayna Rae and Lillian for manning the table and making it look so nice!
• Our first skating exhibition at the beginning of the month was such a success that we were asked to come back and do another at the end of the month – so we did! Both exhibitions included quite a few of our skaters and were extremely well-received. Well, done, skaters! Shout out to Dave, Morgan, and Tierra for coordinating not only on exhibition day, but also the practices beforehand.

Holiday Showcase – Sugar and Ice and Everything Nice

We had a great turn-out for our annual holiday showcase, with almost 40 numbers performed! All the skaters did a great job, our raffle fundraiser was a huge success, and everyone enjoyed some delicious food and camaraderie after the show. Special thanks to Shelby for being our fabulous emcee!

Congratulations!!

A huge congratulations to Kinzleigh who passed her Gold Solo Free Dance – this makes her a double gold medalist! Well done!
