Light the Nights Group Night and Exhibition – Monday, December 1, 5:00 pm – 9:00 pm
Join fellow skaters and their families for a fun night at Light the Night at the GoMart Ballpark. Enjoy the lights choreographed to holiday music, walk through the light display (don’t get lost in the maze!), have some s’mores, and – of course – go skating! Our group night is the same night as our exhibition (which starts at 5:15 pm), so you’re sure to see lots of fellow skaters and skating families. You can still come and join us even if you didn’t get tickets through our group; just grab some online or at the ballpark box office.
Be sure to stop by our information table and say hi – or, better yet, stay for a 30-minute shift and help us spread the word. We’ll be sharing information with the public about figure skating, our club, and the upcoming Youth Ice Skating Clinics.
If you can’t make the first one – no worries! We’ll be having a 2nd exhibition on Tuesday, December 30th. It will begin at 5:15pm. Come enjoy the show and meet the skaters afterward.
Beginner Ice Skating Clinics – Saturday, December 6 & 27, 9:00 am – 11:30 am
CFSC will be running two Beginner Ice Skating Clinics this year hosted by the Dirty Birds at the GoMart Ballpark. These clinics are geared toward kids ages 4-12 and include ice skating instruction, both on and off the ice, lunch, and a T-shirt – all for just $30. Help us spread the word! Virtual Test Session – Monday, December 8
There’s still time to sign up for our virtual test session on Monday, December 8th. The regular registration deadline is midnight on Wednesday, December 3rd, and the late registration deadline (which incurs an additional $20 fee) is midnight on Sunday, December 7th. All videos for this test session must be submitted by Monday, December 8th and filmed between Monday, November 24th and Monday, December 8th. The testing fee includes 15 minutes of ice time per skater for filming (for CFSC members only). Instructions to sign up for filming will be provided upon registration.
Holiday Showcase – Sunday, December 14, 5:30 pm
Spread the word! Join us for a night of “Sugar and Ice and Everything Nice” on Sunday, December 14th. Keep an eye out for a sign-up sheet on the club bulletin board in the locker room for people to bring sides and desserts for the reception after the show. Main courses will be provided by CFSC. Also plan to attend the dress rehearsal the day before (Saturday12/13) during our usual freestyle time – 9:00 am – 11:00 am.
Skating Show at Canaan – weekend of December 19-21
Several of our skaters are returning this season to Canaan Valley Resort. They will be performing in three shows over the course of the weekend: Friday night at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. In between shows, they’ll be able to visit the local shops and enjoy outdoor activities – yes, there are other activities aside from skating! If you’ve ever considered spending a weekend in the area, this would be a great time. If you can’t make it this month, there will be three more opportunities: January 23-25, 2026, February 20-22, 2026, and March 13-15, 2026. Hope to see you there!
