Light the Night Wrap-Up

Now that January is here, we can look back at the three events held during Light the Night last month. All three were a big success!

• Although the turn-out at the Youth Skating Clinic was on the small side, everyone had a great time. We learned a lot and are now better prepared for next year. Shout out to Dave and Morgan for organizing and running this event.
• We had sixty club members come out to the CFSC group night, and everyone seemed to have a lot of fun. Several people stopping by our table which looked quite festive thanks to Tierra, Laurie, Jayna Rae, and Lillian. Not only did these ladies decorate our table, they also did a fantastic job spreading the word about our club. Thank-you!
• Despite being rescheduled, the Skating Exhibition was a huge success. It was so well-received that it actually ran longer than initially planned. Well, done, skaters! Special thanks to Dave, Morgan, and Tierra for coordinating not only on exhibition day, but also the practices beforehand.

Home for the Holidays

We had a great turn-out for our annual holiday showcase last month, with over forty numbers performed! All the skaters did a great job, our raffle fundraiser was a huge success, and everyone enjoyed some good food and camaraderie after the show. Special thanks to Shelby for being our fabulous emcee!

Skating Show at Canaan – weekend of January 10-11, 2025

The second round of skating shows at Canaan Valley Resort are coming up. Our skaters will be performing three shows over the course of the weekend: Friday night at 7:00 pm and Saturday at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. In between shows, they’ll be able to visit the local shops and enjoy outdoor activities – yes, there are others aside from skating! If you’re considering spending a weekend in the area, this would be a great one. There will be 2 more weekends with shows: February 7-8, 2025 and March 7-8, 2025.
