Storing Your Stuff

As with any sport, you will need a fair amount of equipment for figure skating. There are essentially two options for storing all your stuff: rent a locker from the rink or get a skating bag to carry it all in. If you choose to rent a locker from SCMIA, bear in mind that you will still need some sort of bag to carry your skates and accessories in for competitions and in-person test if you choose to participate in them.

Lockers

SCMIA rents out lockers on an annual basis based on availability. These lockers are located in the Figure Skating Club Locker Room near the bleachers and require you to provide your own lock. If you would like to rent a locker, speak to someone at the main desk.

Skating Bags

Skating bags are convenient for storing your suff. You can use them either regularly for practice or periodically for traveling to competitions, camps, or in-person tests. While any bag large enough to hold all your supplies will work, skating bags offer some additional features you may find appealing, most notably separate sections for each of your skates.

A quick internet search will provide you with all kinds of options for skating bags, as well as all the Protective Gear and Accessories mentioned in this section of the website. Alternatively, most of these items can be purchased at a skating shop, either online or at a store front such at Skaters Edge in Cleveland, OH or Trusted Edge in Brecksville, OH.
