U.S. Figure Skating has divided the U.S. into three sections, each of which is further divided into three regions as shown below. CFSC is in the South Atlantic Region and the Eastern Section.

Pacific Coast Section

Northwest Pacific Region

Central Pacific Region

Southwest Pacific Region

Midwestern Section

Upper Great Lakes Region

Eastern Great Lakes Region

Southwestern Region

Eastern Section

New England Region

North Atlantic Region

South Atlantic Region

While regional championship competitions are no longer part of the qualifying structure, regions are used for advancement to sectional singles. The advancement criteria are as follows:

Each sectional singles (Pacific Coast Section, Midwestern Section, Eastern Section)

  • Juvenile – Novice: 24 skaters per level
    • Top four overall scores from each region
    • Next best 12 overall scores from the section
  • Junior – Senior: 18 skaters per level plus byes
    • Top four overall scores from each region
    • Next best six overall scores from the section

U.S. Pairs Finals

  • Juvenile – Novice: 24 teams per level
    • Top four overall scores from each section
    • Next best 12 overall scores from the nation
  • Junior – Senior: 18 teams per level plus byes
    • Top four overall scores from each section
    • Next best six overall scores from the nation

U.S. Ice Dance Finals

  • Juvenile – Novice: 24 teams per level
    • Top four overall scores from each section
    • Next best 12 overall scores from the nation
  • Junior – Senior: 18 teams per level plus byes
    • Top four overall scores from each section
    • Next best six overall scores from the nation

Sectional singles, U.S. Pairs Finals, and U.S. Ice Dance Finals are usually held at the end of October and November.
